On June 22nd 1999, the board of trustees of JASA(Japan Amateur Sports Association) provisionally recognized JDSF as a member federation. This implies that JDSF is now recognized as the one and only organization that represents the dance sport world in Japan. The dream of participating in the Olympic games and National Sports Festival would become a reality in the near future.

The condition for the full recognition is that more than 12 prefectural member federations of JDSF are recognized by the Prefectural Amateur Sports Associations. This will be fulfiled in the near future since the provisional recognition by JASA will accelerate recognition in each prefecture.
