The Method Sophrology applied in delivery is the prenatal education which surges the psychological questions in the domain of modern technological delivery condition which has esclusively been aiming to elevate the physical security of both mother and fetus. The Sophrology, as autogenic (self-controlled) delivery which has its goal in letting realize the motherhood to pregnant women, offers them further satisfaction which was not obtainable only through materially completed medical ambiance.

In order to respond to the request of the social inclination for more information in this psyco-physical field, in the occasion of the 5th Annual Assembly of the Japan Sophrology Association, we had, as the Special Lecturer, Professor Akikazu Takada, MD of the Division of  Physiology of the Hamamatsu Medical University to give lecture on the cerebral function and the physiological problems related with labor pains. Besides, at Symposium, participants of various professions discussed about the theme of the motherhood, which was still abstract in spite of its importance as the factor for the transmission of life.

The goal of the 5th Annual Assembly of the Japan Sophrology Association was to provide to obstetrical staffs further understanding of the necessity of prenatal education, as well as the recognition of the fact that the motherhood is to continue to be brewed in woman’s life.
